On My Birthday, I’m Counting My Blessings….

Today is my birthday.

A birthday does not come along every day, but when it does, it usually brings birthday wishes from others, some lovely Hallmark cards, maybe a present of two,  and a birthday cake.  It is also a perfect opportunity for me to contemplate all the blessings in my life, and say a few thank you’s…

I am thankful to God.  You came to me at age 5, and welcomed me in your arms.

I am thankful for my husband.  He works hard to provide for our family, and rarely asks anything in return.  He is supportive of my growing business, and lifts me up when I am down. He is stubborn, analytical, and swears like a trucker, but he is also funny, a good father, and has a heart of gold.

I am thankful for my son.  He is the most incredible kid in the whole wide world.  He is smart, funny, and shares my love of all things sci-fi.  He is a hard worker, dedicated to his school work and his friends, and helps me to be a better mother, every single day.

I am thankful for my Mom and Dad.  They give unconditional love, support, and guidance, even when I do crazy things.   Growing up, they provided me with a spiritual foundation, a moral compass, and an ethic for hard work. Sometimes I have wavered from my path, but their guidance always led me back to where I needed to be.

I am thankful for my brother and sister and their families.  We do not get to see each other often, but our bond is unbreakable.  We disagree sometimes, we drive each other crazy, but we also love each other so much.

I am thankful for my best friend and her family.  You put up with me, and my sometimes crazy antics, but you are more than friends, you are family to us.

I am thankful for my natural brother and sisters.  I am blessed that we found each other as adults.

I am thankful for all my dear friends and family members across the world.   Perhaps we do not see each other often, but I know that love is there.  Facebook definitely helps!

I am thankful for my Collective Bias/SoFab family.  You celebrate my accomplishments, encourage me to be the best I can be, and raise the bar for better writing, blogging, and social media. I cannot wait to meet you in May!

I am thankful for all my friends at my sons school.  When we decided to send our son there, I never knew we would gain such a wonderful group of friends.

I am thankful for all of my sons friends.  You are dear to my son, and are part of our family. You are awesome!

I am thankful for my blog friends.  Some of you I have not (yet) met in person, but you are as dear to me as the people I see everyday.   Thank you for making me proud to be part of such an awesome community.

I am thankful for my dog, Freckles.  Despite all his quirky neuroses, he is such a sweet, loving pup.

Thank you to all of you, I love you very much!
